The Osun state government has announced the death of Jare Adebisi, the deputy chief of staff to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Legit.ng reports that the announcement was made on Saturday, June 13 in a statement which was also tweeted by the government’s official Twitter handle.
According to the statement released by Governor Oyetola’s chief press secretary, Ismail Omipidan, Adebisi died after a brief illness.
The statement denied rumours that Adebisi may have died of coronavirus, saying the late politician died after a brief illness.
He will be buried in Ilobu town this morning.
Governor Oyetola, who sent a message to the deceased’s family, described his demise as a personal loss to him and his administration in Osun because of his dependability and efficiency in executing in his duties.
The late politician worked as assistant chief of staff and adviser in the Governor’s Office under Rauf Aregbesola.
He held a masters degree in Law and was working on his doctorate programme, also in Law, before his death.
Overah, until his death, was the commissioner on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
The commissioner was said to have passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 9, in Sapele. He represented Sapele, Okpe and Ethiope West local government areas on the DESOPADEC board.
